Relevant IT Systems

Accessibility is relevant to all IT systems created and used by telecommunications companies. The following IT systems commonly deployed by the telecommunications industry face the strongest accessibility requirements:
- Hardware - Telecommunication devices developed by manufacturers, such as IT telephony products, must be accessible to people with disabilities and compliant with accessibility standards under Section 255, Section 508, and the ADA.
- Services - Telecommunication remote answering services or hosted call center applications, must be accessible to provide equal access for people with disabilities.
- Internal IT Systems -IT systems used internally to perform essential job functions, such as Intranets, software applications, and hardware, must be accessible in order to avoid legal action by employees with disabilities.
